I was grateful for the opportunity to once again bring leaseholders’ concerns to the Commons during last night’s debate on the Fire Safety Bill.

If the bill passes unamended, hundreds of thousands of leaseholders currently living in unsellable and potentially dangerous high-rise homes could be left with huge bills for fire safety and remedial works.

Sadly the Lords amendment intended to stop building owners passing on remedial costs was defeated by 322 votes to 253, despite a number of Tories rebelling.

Big thanks to Clad DAG disabled leaseholders group (http://ow.ly/t2rz50E5Ybc) and the residents of Norfolk House and Aragon Tower (among many others) for their tireless campaigning.

I hope Berkeley Homes will take heed & finally agree to meet.
