Vicky Foxcroft MP for Lewisham Deptford & Shadow Minister for Disabled People
The 2019 Conservative Party Manifesto promised to deliver a National Strategy for Disabled People which would be ambitious and support disabled people in all aspects of their life by 2020.
In 2024 (two Prime Ministers later, but who’s counting?) we have the Disability Action Plan.
Despite some positives, the Plan fails to address the number one concern for disabled people across the country right now – the cost-of-living crisis.
At a time when energy bills remain high and disabled households face extra costs of £975 per month, this Government have shown yet again just how out of touch with disabled people they are.
