Earlier today we held the Youth Violence Commission’s first parliamentary evidence session on the role that youth services can play in tackling youth violence, and the current challenges the sector faces.

It was an interesting, important discussion with MPs, academics, young people, national organisations and grassroots charities about possible solutions for policy makers. After the evidence session I asked Amber Rudd, Home Secretary, about two of the themes we discussed: the need for early intervention and the importance of a fully funded statutory youth service in tackling youth violence.
