On Thursday 5th September Deptford First – a local charity which I chair – will be officially launching our brand-new Community Chest Fund at Deptford Town Hall.

Cuts to local government funding have taken a massive toll on our community, placing many people in financial hardship. Deptford First hopes to alleviate some of that hardship by working with our partner organisations (currently LRMN, Deptford Reach and Bench Outreach) to provide small grants to those who cannot access help elsewhere.

Join us to hear from our trustees, our partners and some of the people we have already helped. If that’s not enough to tempt you along, there will also be food and drink (as well as the obligatory raffle!) and a chance to network with other local organisations.

We are asking attendees for a small donation of £2 per person (or more if you would like) towards the Community Chest Fund (more info on our website: https://www.deptfordfirst.org.uk/community-chest-initiative)

We have tried to invite as many local organisations as possible, but please feel free to share this with your networks.
