Vicky Foxcroft MP for Lewisham Deptford & Shadow Minister for Disabled People
I have been asking Gavin Williamson, Secretary of State for Education, for details of assistive home learning technology for SEND pupils since July.
I asked again at Education Questions today – thought my wi-fi might have cut out due to the non-answer, but seems education minister Vicky Ford was just dodging the question as well…
You can watch the video of our exchange below, but here is the text of my question:
“I asked the Education Secretary on the 2nd July and again on the 7th September about support for children with SEND during the Covid-19 catch up. He said he would write to me, but that letter has not been forthcoming.
“I ask again, what assistive technology is being offered as part of the distribution of laptops and tablets to enable pupils to work from home if needed? Will the Minister provide an answer this time, or will I have to do this again next month?”
