As you will probably know by now, yesterday the Prime Minister announced his roadmap out of lockdown. The full guidance is available here, but these are the key dates.

March 8th

  • Schools and colleges will reopen (including wraparound care and school sports)
  • Exercise and recreation with one other person outdoors will be permitted
  • Funerals can take place with up to 30 guests
  • Weddings and wakes can take place with up to 6 guests

No earlier than April 12th

  • Non-essential retail and personal care businesses will reopen
  • Libraries, community centres and most outdoor attractions will reopen
  • Indoor leisure will reopen (subject to certain restrictions)
  • Groups of 6 (or more if only 2 households) can meet outdoors
  • Domestic overnight stays in self-contained accommodation will be permitted (one household only)
  • Weddings and wakes can take place with up to 15 guests

No earlier than May 17th

  • Indoor hospitality, entertainment and attractions can reopen
  • Indoor sport can restart
  • Remaining outdoor entertainment (including performances) can reopen
  • Maximum of 30 people can meet outdoors
  • Up to 6 people (or larger groups if only 2 households) can meet indoors
  • Outdoor events can take place (at limited capacity)
  • International travel will restart (subject to review)

No earlier than June 21st

  • Remaining businesses (including nightclubs) will reopen
  • No restrictions on social contact
  • No restrictions on events
