Local charity and community forum Deptford First was re-launched on the 27th November by Vicky Foxcroft MP and long-standing trustee of Deptford First Owen Beament.

Deptford First was launched by John Silkin in the 1980s so that local community organisations charities could get together to discuss and find ways to support the local community.

Deptford First – A Blank Page, was the name of the recent event and was an open discussion and networking forum about how people want to play a role in the community and what role they feel the charity has.

Vicky Foxcroft said after the event “Deptford First is so vital to our local community. I really want to ensure that our community is supported and can go forward in extremely difficult time when local services are so stretched.”

“This is just the start, Deptford First is back and here to stay. We will be reaching out and trying to help positively changing the community which we live in.”
