PMQs: Sale of knives

In Prime Minister's Questions today I asked the Prime Minister to immediately legislate to ensure knives are never on display in shops.

There is guidance for retailers on how to sell knives responsibly – but this is currently voluntary. Making it compulsory for shops to store knives behind counters is a common-sense policy which would make it much harder for anyone underage to get their hands on a knife.
