My letter to Lewisham Council following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower, Notting Hill

Following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower, Notting Hill in the early hours of this morning, I have written to Lewisham Council, a number of local housing associations and the Government.

At this early stage, it is unclear what the cause of this fire may have been, but preventing a tragedy such as this is of paramount importance to local authorities and emergency services across the country.

In my letter below, I have asked Lewisham Council to ensure that all is being done to prevent this from happening:

UPDATE: In response to my letter and concerns raised by other representatives in Lewisham, Kevin Sheehan, Executive Director for Customer Services, has written the below letter outlining the action Lewisham Council is taking with its partners to ensure the safety of Lewisham residents:
